Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks This magical orchestra specializes in the very popular jazz styles of the 1920's and early 1930s. To say this band is magical would NOT be an understatement. I've walked into many a nightclub and supper club in Manhattan decades ago to see this wonderful orchestra. Needless to say, I've been a very big fan of Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks for many many years. They are truly unique.
No question, Vince Giordano is one of our best arrangers who also happens to be the leader and musician of New York's Premiere Jazz Orchestra The Nighthawks. He is also known as the go-to guy for authentic 20's and 30's jazz arrangements.
Giordano and the Nighthawks have contributed to a number of films and is especially noted for orchestrations featured in the movies of Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese and Robert Deniro. He also provides much of the music and also appears in the Scorcese HBO series Boardwalk Empire. Vince Giordano plays many instruments himself which include the bass saxophone that anchors the Nighthawks' rhythm section on many hot jazz arrangements.
